The Diploma of Letters (Theology) requires the equivalent of two years of part-time study. It is only offered as an exit award for students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Letters (Theology).
The specialisation undertaken by the student will be identified on the student’s transcript of academic record and on the parchment presented to the student on completion of the course.
The Diploma of Letter (Theology) aims to provide students an opportunity to develop a broad understanding and expression of Christian faith through the study and examination of Christian traditions and thought, including systematic theology, biblical studies, church history and Christian ethics..
On completion of the Diploma of Letters (Theology), students will be able to:
To qualify for the Diploma of Letters (Theology), a student must complete 36 units according to the following program of study, with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.
Not all topics are necessarily available in a given year.

THEO1510 Interpreting the Bible (4.5 units)
THEO1401 Rome to Reformation: Church History to 1500 CE (4.5 units)
Core - Year 2 topics
9 units comprising:
THEO2112 Christian Theology: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (4.5 units)
THEO2314 The Theology of Jesus Christ, Word and Saviour (4.5 units)
Core - Year 3 topcs
9 units comprising:
THEO3112 Synoptic Studies; Engaging the Gospels (4.5 units)
THEO3331 Christian Ethics (4.5 units)
plus 9 units of topics from the following list:
THEO2220 Bible and Popular Culture (4.5 units)
THEO2410 Reformation to Fragmentation: Church History from 1500 CE (4.5 units)
THEO3330 Religious Pluralism in a Contemporary World (4.5 units)
